About the Display of Search Results

  • By default, search results are displayed in order of the date they were registered on the site. The sort order can be changed to “Year Created (Ascending/Descending).”
  • Search results are displayed 20 items at a time. The number of items displayed can be changed to “20,” “40,” “60,” “80,” or “100.”
  • Clicking a material title takes you to the metadata detail screen.
  • Clicking the “List” or “Thumbnail” button allows you to switch the display format of the search results list between “list format” and “thumbnail format” (grid format).

Description of Metadata Fields

Field Name Description
Title Displays the title of the material (each item).
Title Reading Displays the reading of the material (each item).
Alternative Title Displays an alternative title if the material (each item) has one.
Series Title Displays information related to the series title, volume number or part number, and part title.
Volume Title Displays the title of each volume in a multivolume work, or the part title of a serial publication.
Volume Displays the volume number or part number.
Creator Displays the department or organization that created the material, such as the source department, creating department, or former holding department.
Subject – Person Displays keywords related to persons.
Subject – Event Displays keywords related to events.
Subject – Keyword Displays free keywords.
Description Displays a description of the material.
Abstract Displays a summary of the material.
Date Created Displays the date on which the material was created.
Japanese Era Date Displays the date on which the material was created in the Japanese era calendar.
Resource Type Displays the nature or genre of the resource.
Rissho Kosei-kai Resource Type Displays the nature or genre of the resource as classified by Rissho Kosei-kai.
Material Type Displays the medium type of the material.
NDC Classification Displayed for rare books.
Size or Duration Displays the size or duration of the digital data.
Language Displays the language of the source information resource from which the relevant information resource was derived.
Source Information Displays reference information for the source information resource from which the relevant information resource was created.
Related Information Displays reference information for related information resources.
Geospatial Information Displayed when there are historical place names or place names whose present-day identification remains uncertain.
Latitude and Longitude Information Displays latitude and longitude information.
Address Displays the address.
Date / Period Displays the temporal range.
Quantity, Unit, and Size Displays the quantity, unit, and size of the material.
